Job summary

XL Parts / The Parts House is seeking a Store Stocker to receive and stock automotive parts. The role requires quick movement, bending, and occasional ladder use to reach top shelves. You will read orders, move items between receiving, storage, and packing areas, and prepare shipments with accurate records.

The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime. A high school diploma and basic computer skills are required, and background/drug screening will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to move or gather.
• Move materials from receiving areas to storage and other designated areas.
• Sort and place items on racks or shelves by size, type, or product code.
• Assemble customer orders and prepare pallets or packing for shipment.
• Mark materials with identifying information and open containers as needed.
• Record quantities received and distributed; verify against documents.
• Operate computer to enter records and track inventory.
• Prepare parcels for mailing and shipment via carriers.

Job description

The Store Stocker is responsible for receiving and stocking Automotive parts. The ideal candidate should be able to move and think quickly, able to bend at the waist and knees and climb a short ladder to reach top shelves.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Reads customer’s order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders in pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information. Open boxes, crates, and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Uses computer to enter records.
• Prepares parcels for mailing and shipment via common carrier.
• Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• High school Diploma
• Attention to detail
• 0 to 3 years working in a warehouse
• Good to above-average computer skills
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures preferred
• Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Some overtime may be required
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements:

Typical 9-hour day to include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required.
