Job summary

XL Parts / The Parts House is seeking a Store Stocker to receive, stock, and fulfill automotive parts orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment in Texas. The role requires reading orders, moving goods, assembling customer orders, and maintaining organized storage areas.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and up to 3 years of warehouse experience with solid computer skills. A background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma is required.
• 0–3 years of warehouse experience preferred.
• Good to above-average computer skills.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures preferred.
• Able to pass a criminal background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Read orders to determine items to be moved and gathered.
• Move and stock items from receiving to storage and shelves.
• Assemble customer orders and prepare pallets for shipment.
• Label materials and record quantities received or distributed.
• Use computer to enter records and track inventory.
• Prepare parcels for mailing and shipment via carrier.
• Perform routine housekeeping and other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Store Stocker is responsible for receiving and stocking Automotive parts. The ideal candidate should be able to move and think quickly, able to bend at the waist and knees and climb a short ladder to reach top shelves.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Reads customer’s order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving areas to storage to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders in pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information. Open boxes, crates, and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Uses computer to enter records.
• Prepares parcels for mailing and shipment via common carrier.
• Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• High school Diploma
• 0 to 3 years working in a warehouse
• Good to above-average computer skills
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures preferred
• Monday through Saturday, 25 to 30 hours total
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements:

Typical 9-hour day to include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required. Employee also share the responsibility to perform routine housekeeping activities such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning and changing trash can liner.
