Job summary

Mud Bay in Olympia, WA is seeking a part-time Store Staff member to help customers and provide a friendly, educational experience for dogs, cats, and small animals.

Starting pay is $17.66 per hour with a pay range up to $20.31, and opportunities for growth through raises and promotions. Shifts include Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday and may require working at multiple Mud Bay locations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Competent with basic math and comfortable using computers/calculators/10-keys
• Passion to continuously learn about dogs, cats and small animals
• Integrity and good judgment
• Willingness to learn and be flexible in a retail environment

Responsibilities

• Provides a happy, educational, and fun experience for all who visit our stores.
• Engages dog and cat owners, connects with them personally, and helps find solutions for animal needs.
• Contributes to sales growth with holistic solutions for long-term pet health.
• Performs transactions at the point of sale and handles opening/closing registers
• Opens and closes store and registers as a keyholder
• Maintains store cleanliness, organization, and attractive sales areas
• Manages inventory including receiving, rotating, restocking, and facing
• Supports team learning through feedback and communication
• Works scheduling across multiple Mud Bay locations as needed

Description

Mud Bay’s Store Staff Members are the heart of Mud Bay. They are flexible, friendly, and focused on providing everyone who walks through our doors an outstanding experience.

Competitive base pay: The target starting pay for this position will be at the entry point of the range, at $17.66.

The pay range of $17.66 to $20.31 per hour allows our employees room for growth through annual increases and promotion potential.

When you'd work: This is a part-time position, approximately 16 hours per week (Good Faith Estimate). Open availability is needed Wednesday/Friday/Saturday. Primary shifts for Friday and Saturday are full opening beginning at 8:30 am and either opening/closing on Wednesday.

• Is able to work in multiple locations in addition to their home store, preferably three

Required Skills:

• Must be 18 years or older
