Job summary

Mud Bay is seeking Store Staff to provide a friendly, educational experience for customers and their pets. This part-time rover role covers shifts across neighboring locations and involves customer engagement, sales, and careful register handling.

You will contribute to the health and happiness of dogs and cats, learn continuously about products, and collaborate with a team that values flexibility and community.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to lift up to 45 pounds and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Provides a happy, educational, and fun experience for all who visit our stores.
• Engages dog and cat owners in conversation and helps find solutions for pets.
• Contributes to sales growth by offering holistic pet care solutions.
• Performs transactions at the point of sale, including opening/closing registers.
• Maintains store cleanliness, organization, and attractive sales/support areas.
• Maintains inventory including receiving, restocking, and facing.
• Opens/closes the store and registers; supports multiple locations as needed.

Mud Bay’s Store Staff are the heart of Mud Bay. They are flexible, friendly, and focused on providing an outstanding experience to everyone who walks through our doors.

Competitive base pay: The target starting pay for this position will be at the entry point of the range, at $21.30.

The pay range of $21.78 to $24.50 per hour allows our employees room for growth through annual increases and promotion potential.

When you'd work: This is a part-time position,Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of 14 hours per week. Flexible availability is needed Saturday/Sunday/Monday. Shifts will vary, but can typically look like: Sunday: 8:45am - 12:45pm. This is a rover position, which is expected to work at other neighboring locations regularly. Rover shifts would look like: Thursday: 9:45am - 1:45pm (Rover/provides coverage for District Meeting days and shift would be extended to 4:15p on those days or help support other locations as needed), Fridays: 3:45pm - 7:45pm, Saturday: 3:15pm - 7:15pm. Team members are required to attend a once a month store meeting, typically on a Thursday or Friday, but may change due to business needs.

• Maintains cleanliness, organization and attractiveness of store's sales and support area
• Maintains inventory, including receiving, rotating, restocking, and facing
• Helps their team learn and grow by providing feedback and open communication
• Performs keyholder responsibilities, such as opening and closing the store, and opening and closing registers
• Is comfortable with retail scheduling, including a variety of shifts
• Is able to work in multiple locations in addition to their home store, preferably three

Required Skills:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
• Has a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Competent with basic math, comfortable using computers, calculators, and 10-keys
• Has a passion to continuously learn about dogs, cats and small animals
