Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a Loss Prevention Specialist to maintain a safe and secure store environment, deter theft, and provide excellent customer service. The role requires visible presence, collaboration with Store Leadership, and adherence to Loss Prevention policies.

Responsibilities include monitoring entrances/exits, addressing potential safety issues, and supporting shrink-reduction initiatives while upholding Ross values and standards across our stores.

Qualifications

• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.
• High School education or equivalent required, AA degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible security presence at store entrances/exits and on sales floor.
• Walk the sales floor to identify theft indicators and address issues as directed by Store Leadership.
• Partner with Store Leadership to ensure compliance with Loss Prevention directives.
• Mitigate theft indicators and communicate findings to Loss Prevention Leadership.
• Develop teams and educate Associates on shortage reduction initiatives.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Monitor entrances/exits and sales floor for potential theft and gather indicators to reduce shortages.
• Ensure proper checkout procedures are followed and provide excellent customer service.
