Job summary

Rural King seeks an Assistant Store Manager to co-lead daily store operations, drive sales, and develop associates in a busy retail environment. You will partner with the Store Manager to oversee merchandising, inventory, scheduling, and customer experience while upholding Rural King values of People First and Integrity.

You will coach a diverse team, manage performance, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail leadership experience.
• Experience with merchandising, inventory management, scheduling, and customer service.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze business performance and drive operational improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily retail operations with the Store Manager to drive sales, inventory accuracy, merchandising, pricing, and operational excellence.
• Monitor business performance and implement strategies to improve productivity, profitability, customer satisfaction, and store results.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support scheduling, labor planning, inventory accuracy, cash handling, shrink reduction, and loss prevention initiatives.
• Recruit, coach, and develop associates while building a high-performing team.
• Lead by example and support succession planning and development of future store leaders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging customers, resolving concerns, and reinforcing service standards.
• Promote workplace safety and OSHA compliance, asset protection efforts, and cross-training.
