Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks an experienced Store Manager to lead all store operations, including hiring, training, scheduling, and ensuring in-stock levels and visual presentation. You will drive sales, control costs, and uphold safety and customer service standards.

You will recruit and develop staff, conduct performance evaluations, manage opening/closing routines, and analyze store performance to spot trends.

Qualifications

• Minimum reading and math skills; able to interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits and cashier accountability.
• Experience in inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to train staff.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees per laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for counseling or termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open/close the store reliably; ensure staffing both days.
• Evaluate operating statements for trends, profitability, and shrink.
• Review ordering plans and replenish stock; manage cycle counts.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following procedures.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage follow standards.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages and cash handling procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership; maintain a clean, safe store.
• Follow SOPs; complete paperwork by deadlines.
