Job summary

PetSmart is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to drive store excellence in merchandising, inventory, pet care operations, and associate leadership. You will open/close the store, guide teams, and manage financial outcomes while upholding the company’s vision and values.

The role requires experience in retail leadership, full-time availability, and strong communication skills to lead a team in a fast-paced environment and ensure a safe, high-quality store experience for pets and customers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; maintain visually appealing store layout.

Responsibilities

• Participates in employment decisions such as recruiting, interviewing, and coaching.
• Supports associate development, onboarding, reviews, labor management, and coaching for accountability.
• Address and administer associate complaints and grievances.
• Delegate and validate daily tasks to meet business and pet parent needs.
• Lead and coach associates on operational processes to ensure pet safety and health.
• Coordinate staffing coverage for pivotal store activities.
• Communicate priorities and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Recognize and celebrate associates driving engagement.
• Oversee inventory management, pricing, and live/non-live pet care operations.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and store standards.
