Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver excellent customer service, and support team development. You will assist with merchandise handling, payroll and scheduling tasks, and ensure store policies and safety procedures are followed.

The role emphasizes strong communication, leadership, and the ability to maintain a safe, friendly shopping environment while driving promotional and display effectiveness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain directives is required
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Organize, stock, and move merchandise between delivery and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain store fixtures, displays and overall promotional effectiveness
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll records, scheduling, and cash handling
• Keep store areas tidy, well-stocked, and secure store assets
• Ensure policy adherence and safety guidelines; supervise and develop store associates
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors and trash disposal
• Support the Store Manager in training and developing staff
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and employees
