Job summary

Dollar General Store in Virginia seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager with store processes, supervision, staffing, inventory, stocking, and receiving. This role focuses on developing an external candidate for the Store Manager track for a limited period.

The candidate will help manage store operations, verify cash controls, and ensure compliance with company policies while delivering strong customer service and merchandising execution.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail experience is a plus.
• Experience in measuring store performance and inventory cycles is beneficial.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with merchandising, staging, stocking, and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and support store operations.
• Participate in opening/closing, and ensure cash controls and safety procedures.
