Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of retail/grocery/operations management/customer service experience.
• 4+ years of progressive leadership experience.
• Passion to lead those in span of care while providing industry leading service.
• Strong business acumen and proactive thinking.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all team members and vendors feel valued and supported.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Director in running the overall store operations as needed.
• Lead performance management for leaders and team members, including ratings and development.
• Attract, select, and retain a team that supports the Meijer culture, including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
• Communicate daily with the team; lead huddles on financials, customer feedback, recognition, and other important information.
• Drive open communication within the store based on Care and Accountability.
• Ensure product freshness standards and adherence to procedures.
• Oversee store operations in the absence of the Store Director.
• Verify compliance with Food Safety standards and local regulations.
• Engage with communities and customers to strengthen Meijer’s presence.
• Deliver on KPIs: sales, shrink, labor, margin, profit, customer satisfaction, and safety.
• Drive new initiatives identified by store operations.
• Monitor macro environment and customer desires to keep Meijer competitive.
• Involve in daily DSD execution, backroom and salesfloor excellence.
• Track competitive trends and strengths/weaknesses.
