Job summary

Family Dollar in Universal City, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with day-to-day store activities, assist customers, and ensure merchandise is properly organized and displayed.

You will lead and train store associates, maintain store cleanliness and safety, and uphold company policies while providing a positive shopping experience for customers and a respectful work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail management experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, records including payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful, and professional environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned*.
