Job summary

Food City is seeking an experienced store manager to oversee daily operations, budgeted sales, and profits while maintaining quality, freshness, and customer service.

You will lead the store team, schedule staff, monitor pricing and promotions, ensure safety and compliance, and build a strong local presence in the community.

This role requires a proven retail leadership track record and the ability to motivate a diverse team to deliver exceptional shopping experiences.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 3 years' experience in Retail operations.
• Ability to resolve differences diplomatically.
• Knowledge of Food City policies and procedures.
• Able to lead by example and train staff.
• Able to attend on-site shifts as scheduled.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service with a strong management team and adequate staffing.
• Understand and promote company benefits including ESOP, 401k, insurance.
• Oversee hiring and termination to maintain staffed store.
• Ensure required department and computer-based training to increase retention of quality associates.
• Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed.
• Oversee safety and security measures including theft prevention.
• Interact professionally with management, associates, supervision, and customers.
• Enforce fund-handling procedures for safety and loss prevention.
• Conduct store key accountability monthly.
• Monitor and enforce labor guidelines for all associates including under 18.
• Oversee sale of alcohol and tobacco in compliance with policy.
• Prepare and review vital department reports and management reports.
