Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Fairfax, VA seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and help the Store Manager supervise and train staff.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a customer-focused mindset in a fast-paced retail environment. This is a full-time position with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain fixtures, displays, and promotional effectiveness of the store front.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, deposits) and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures and ensure staff follow them.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and colleagues.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
