Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in Fairfax, VA.

You’ll assist with merchandising, stock organization, and executing corporate directives while maintaining a welcoming environment for shoppers. Responsibilities include supervising and training associates, ensuring safety and cleanliness, handling opening and closing duties, and contributing to loss prevention and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Experience managing store operations in retail, grocery, or drugstore settings is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal displays.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record-keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets including cash; adhere to safety policies.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
