Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in Raytown, Missouri. The role involves assisting with daily activities, merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention to maintain a high-performing store.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling, plus loss prevention.
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional customer interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
