Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Mississippi location. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor and stockroom meet company standards.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on creating a positive, safe environment for customers and associates while maintaining proper loss prevention and payroll

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail grocery or store management preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean including restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
