Job summary

Family Dollar in Fairhaven, MA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. This role supports the Store Manager in daily activities and leads by example to maintain a clean, welcoming store.

Key duties include opening and closing procedures, merchandise flow from delivery to floor, payroll and scheduling records, loss prevention, and staff training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Strong communication and written skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and handling damaged goods.
• Record keeping including payroll, scheduling, cash receipts, and deposits.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Lead and train Store Associates while upholding policies and safety rules.
