Job summary

Southern States Cooperative, Inc. seeks an Operations Supervisor to support the Retail Store Manager across a local farm supply facility in Leesburg, VA.

Responsibilities include coordinating sales, merchandising, inventory, pricing, and facility maintenance while following SSC policies and government regulations. The role emphasizes team development, scheduling, customer engagement, and risk management, with duties extending to staffing, performance reviews, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in agronomy, plant science, animal science, business management, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in agribusiness, plant science, petroleum, livestock/pet care, or related industry.
• Minimum 1 year in a leadership role; previous SSC experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License; may require forklift, CDL/hazmat, and petroleum/propane certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Retail Store Manager to execute a strategic retail operations plan aligning service, sales and budgeting with SSC goals.
• Manage daily operations for multiple departments; support front-end and showroom merchandising; oversee inventory and warehouses.
• Develop and coach the team; set staff schedules and lead daily meetings to improve performance and customer service.
• Engage with customers to take orders and promote SSC brand in the local community and region.
• Oversee staffing, performance reviews, and corrective actions in collaboration with management.
