Job summary

SpartanNash, in West Fargo, ND, seeks a department leader to run day-to-day retail store operations. You will train staff, keep the department fully staffed, and meet company goals and KPIs. You’ll manage inventory, validate orders, supervise stocking and production tasks, and ensure product quality and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate (Required) or GED.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Good strategic planning and business acumen skills.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Depending on company location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities of the department in a retail store.
• Order and maintain inventory, ensure product freshness and quality.
• Review received orders for amount, quality, count or weight; store properly.
• Manage a team for stocking, production and related tasks.
• Maintain familiarity with store products and promotions.
• Coordinate with schedules, forecasts and department goals.
• Implement and monitor staffing, training and performance development.
• Ensure food safety guidelines and safety standards are followed.
• Attend daily huddles and district/company meetings as required.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department and follow ‘Prime Time’ standards.
