Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervising staff, merchandising, deposits, and stock control while protecting company assets and promoting profitability.

Key responsibilities include staffing, training, cashier oversight, inventory management, and supporting the Store Manager in daily operations. This role requires reliability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Retail supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage cash handling and deposits.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training staff.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, and planograms per guidance.
• Maintain accurate inventory by monitoring damages and markdowns.
• Support cashier accountability and cash control procedures; assist with deposits.
• Assist in store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
