Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store management professional responsible for leading all store operations, staffing, training and daily execution. You will recruit, onboard and evaluate employees, manage stocking and merchandising, and uphold cash control and safety policies.

The role emphasizes customer service leadership, effective communication with staff, and adherence to labor laws and company procedures within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and diagrams.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and store security.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps with counseling or termination as needed.
• Monitor sales, profitability, and stock levels; review inventory and reorder plans weekly.
• Open and close the store as scheduled at least twice per week.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment; ensure customer service leadership.
