Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager who will oversee all store operations, including staffing, ordering, receiving, stocking and presentation to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

You will lead a team, train employees, conduct evaluations, and enforce safety and cash-control policies while maintaining a clean, well-organized store and ensuring compliance with company standards daily. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees; ensures proper staffing.
• Provides training, conducts evaluations, and counsels or terminates as needed.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance expectations; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures store is properly staffed and opened/closed as required.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify sales, profitability, and turn trends.
• Manages ordering and inventory issues; follows up on stock replenishment and cycle counts.
• Facilitates stocking and merchandising according to company standards.
• Maintains inventory accuracy and cash control.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe store environment and proper tool availability.
• Follows SOPs and completes paperwork on deadlines.
