Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager to lead the daily operations of a Guymon, OK store. You will supervise staffing, training, and performance, while ensuring safety, excellent customer service, and profitability.

You’ll oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and store opening/closing procedures. Key responsibilities include staffing, training, evaluating performance, managing inventory accuracy, and enforcing company policies and cash controls.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices and related legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees in accordance with laws and company policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations, and address gaps up to termination if needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rates and advancement opportunities.
• Set expectations, communicate safety and policies, and coordinate team meetings.
• Open and close the store at required frequencies.
• Analyze sales, profitability and inventory trends to inform decisions.
• Monitor stock levels and manage inventory planning and cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage meet standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory control and cashier accountability.
• Lead customer service initiatives and maintain a safe, clean store environment.
• Ensure proper equipment, tools, and compliance with SOPs and deadlines.
