Job summary

Sports Basement is seeking a Manager to lead a department or multiple areas, collaborating with the General Manager to meet daily store goals. You will supervise staff, handle hiring, scheduling, payroll, and policy enforcement while modeling Sports Basement core values.

You will drive customer experience, coach teams, and coordinate with Buyers and Merchandising to ensure timely product flow and strong in-store morale.

Qualifications

• Managerial experience overseeing 10+ staff and departments.
• Proven ability to provide constructive feedback and set daily/weekly tasks.
• Experience in goal planning and driving sales/service improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers and staff.
• Experience identifying staffing needs and recruiting diverse teams.
• Internal candidates: familiarity with HR, scheduling tools, rental systems, and business tools such as Google Docs, Paycom, Shopify, POS systems, Lightspeed and Fiori.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management to complete daily operations.
• Seek improvement opportunities for assigned departments and personal leadership.
• Delegate clearly to staff and hold teams accountable for tasks and operations.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the business.
• Support sales floor during peak periods and when needed.
• Uphold Sports Basement's security policy and customer service standards.
