Job summary

SpartanNash, located in Dickinson, ND, seeks a retail department lead to manage day-to-day operations, ensuring staff training, inventory control, and adherence to company standards and KPIs. The role entails coordinating with management to meet goals and drive performance across the department.

You will supervise stocking, scheduling, production tasks, and ensure product quality and rotation, while following safety and PPE guidelines and contributing to a positive guest experience.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED).
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Good strategic planning and business acumen skills.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products preferred
• Depending on company location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day activities of the department operations in a retail store.
• Ensure associates are trained and department is fully staffed.
• Maintain inventory, review received orders for amount, quality, count or weight.
• Manage a team for stocking, production and other tasks to ensure quality and rotation.
• Communicate and execute weekly and period Flight Plans to schedule and forecasts.
• Assist department manager with staffing, training, performance management and career development.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Participate in daily huddles, manager meetings, and district/company level meetings.
