Job summary

Safeway, Inc. is seeking a Person In Charge (PIC) to act as the primary contact for customers and, in the manager's absence, to oversee store operations with authority to optimize profit, efficiency, and service.

The PIC will supervise staff during night hours and may perform cashier responsibilities as needed. Responsibilities include handling emergencies, customer complaints, and supervising personnel; maintaining policy knowledge; and ensuring a safe, clean environment while assisting other

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of all positions within the store.
• Ability to work independently.
• Desirable: Prior experience as a clerk or manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service as defined by the employer and policy.
• Manage emergencies, complaints, and supervise store personnel.
• Maintain familiarity with company policies and procedures.
• Supervise sales floor and monitor service and stock replenishment.
• Replace stock in checkout area displays.
