Job summary

Albertsons Companies invites applications for a Store Person In Charge (Safeway). This role covers supervising the store during the manager’s absence, primarily at night, and performing cashier duties and basic office tasks to support smooth operations.

The PIC must be able to supervise staff on duty, deliver strong customer service, and adhere to company policies while ensuring a safe, clean, and profitable store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow company customer service procedures.
• Ability to interact with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Knowledge of all positions within the store.
• Ability to work independently.
• Desired: Prior experience as a clerk or manager.

Responsibilities

• All store employees during the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Provide customer service as defined by the employer and policy.
• Ensure emergencies and complaints are handled; supervise staff.
• Supervise the sales floor, replenish products, and maintain cleanliness.
• Operate the cash register, receive payments, and give correct change.
• Assist in closing out day operations and count tills as needed.
• Support other cashier-checkers with register issues and office tasks.
