Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager. You will strive to maximize sales and profitability while controlling expenses and ensuring optimal stocking and merchandising.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in retail or customer service.
• Must have weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and develop store staff with growth goals and feedback.
• Review store evaluations with management to identify opportunities.
• Coordinate supervision to meet sales goals and follow procedures.
• Delegate workload to meet merchandising and visual standards.
• Participate in associate evaluations for feedback and growth.
• Complete merchandising updates to Ace Hardware standards.
• Work with vendors on merchandising strategies and plan-o-gram updates.
• Forecast scheduling needs to meet demand and create schedules.
• Monitor payroll within budget and take corrective actions.
• Review staffing needs with Store Manager/HR prior to changes.
• Develop and implement in-store marketing strategies based on store needs.
• Other tasks as directed by supervision.
