Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee day-to-day store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and to maximize sales and profitability while maintaining optimal stocking and merchandising.

You will lead store staff, manage scheduling and payroll within budget, coach associates, and ensure adherence to safety and company standards. The role emphasizes Amaze Every Customer Every Time and growth of the management team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor degree preferred.
• Leadership experience in retail or customer service.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and lead associates storewide.
• Analytical skills and ability to delegate and be self-directed.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and develop store staff with growth goals; provide ongoing feedback and recognize accomplishments.
• Review store evaluations with management to identify opportunities and address issues quickly.
• Coordinate supervision to meet sales performance goals and follow company procedures.
• Delegate workload to meet merchandising and visual presentation standards.
• Develop in-store marketing strategies including promotions and seasonal merchandising.
