Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Third Person in Charge to oversee store operations when Store Director and Assistant Store Director are unavailable. This role includes supervising staff, handling customer issues, and supporting merchandising execution.

The position entails coordinating with leadership for hiring, training new employees, and sustaining a high standard of customer service. The candidate will play a key role in night stock planning and safety program support at the Pleasanton division.

Qualifications

• Four or more years retail experience required.
• Retail grocery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee total store operations during closing shifts.
• Coordinate with the ASD on center-of-store operations and coverage when the ASD is away.
• Supervise all employees and handle customer complaints in the absence of the SD/ASD.
• Initiate corrective action as needed in the absence of the SD/ASD.
• Liaise between store leadership and late shift operations for smooth execution.
