Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, assist customers, and lead a team of store associates. You will support the Store Manager, uphold store standards, and ensure a safe, friendly shopping environment.

This role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and physical capability to handle retail duties. Join a dynamic team focused on excellent customer service, inventory control, and loss prevention while maintaining a well-organized sales

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and related store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-fronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record-keeping and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and ensure staff compliance.
• Support Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness—bathrooms, floors, and general store areas.
