Job summary

Family Dollar in Springer, NM is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily store functions, help customers, and ensure merchandise is well stocked and displays are maintained.

You will train and supervise store associates, help with opening and closing procedures, process directives, manage payroll and scheduling, and uphold safety and company policies to deliver a positive, efficient shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain storefront fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Follow policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe, respectful environment with professional customer interactions.
• Keep store clean and restocked, including bathrooms, floors, and waste disposal.
