Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in La Vergne, TN to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will assist with supervision of store employees, merchandise presentation, and deposits, while performing stocking and cashiering duties to maximize profitability and reduce losses.

This role requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, and at least a high school diploma with retail supervisory

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by controlling damages, markdowns, scans and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms and merchandise presentation per Store Manager direction.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, and refunds; count tills.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
