Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate in La Vergne, TN to help maintain a clean, customer-focused store and lead in the absence of management. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock shelves, and help set up displays with planograms.

The role requires communication skills, math ability, cash handling knowledge, and the capacity to lift up to 40 pounds. This is a full-time on-site position at multiple Dollar General locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle cash register operations and payments.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Willingness to drive to bank deposits and attend meetings.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as necessary.
• Follow company work processes to receive, open and unpack boxes, cartons and totes of merchandise; stock merchandise, restock and rotate merchandise on shelves, and build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom; and help set up sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under specific direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform additional duties typically performed by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, in their absence.
