Job summary

Family Dollar in Ashton, Idaho is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise organization, open/close duties, payroll and scheduling tasks, and maintain clean, safe store standards.

The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, physical stamina for 55 lb lifts, and experience in retail management. This position is full-time and located at 177 Main Street, Ashton, ID 83420.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and interpret operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, etc.).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store-front effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits/receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms, floors, and general presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
