Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Huntington, WV to support store operations and customer service. You will help train and develop Store Associates, manage daily activities, and ensure safety and policy compliance while maintaining a welcoming environment for customers and staff.

Responsibilities include merchandise organization, opening/closing duties, payroll and scheduling support, and maintaining clean, well-stocked sales floors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain clean and organized store areas per company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Ensure policy compliance and safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a safe and respectful environment for customers and staff.
