Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus and to assist with supervision, merchandise presentation, and deposits.

The role includes leading daily operations, scheduling, training, and safety, while ensuring policy adherence. You will support cashier accountability and loss prevention in the Store Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory; control damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facilities controls.
• Assist with planograms; ensure merchandise is presented per guidelines.
• Assist in ensuring financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash handling procedures; manage refunds/overrides.
• Assist with management of the store in the Store Manager's absence.
