Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Montegut, LA to support the Store Manager in leading a customer-first team and ensuring a clean, organized store. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, handle deposits, and help maximize profitability while safeguarding assets.

This role requires effective communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to train staff, open/close shifts, and maintain loss prevention measures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrates strong customer-service orientation and ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, training, safety meetings, and policy adherence.
• Manage merchandise through receiving, stocking, restocking, and planogram compliance.
• Support inventory control and loss-prevention efforts, including deposits and cash handling.
