Job summary

Break Time Convenience Store in Missouri is seeking an Assistant Manager to support store operations and customer service. You will assist with shift supervision, merchandising, banking, inventory, and financial controls while coaching a team to deliver fast, friendly service.

Ideal candidates will have prior leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across various duties in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Availability to work and/or support all shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with adequate transportation to/from bank
• Strong customer service skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Works well individually and in leading a team
• Ability to perform assigned duties with accuracy and with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to make change, complete shift reports, and account for numbers of products during vendor check in
• Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
• Physical ability to move and position products in the cooler and freezer in extreme temperatures
• Ability to remain standing for up to nine hours per shift
• Ability to ascend/descend ladders to handle inventory or products
• Ability to observe and ensure safety in the work environment
• Ability to communicate in English with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
• Ability to meet Company requirements, including pre-employment background check and drug test
• Legal authorization to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers and guiding the team during peak hours
• Assist in daily store operations including reporting, banking, inventory, and food programs
• Support merchandising, pricing, promotions, and stock levels; ensure clean, well-stocked displays and fronted shelves
• Supervise shifts in the absence of the manager and train new employees on policies and procedures
• Maintain timely and professional communication with customers, vendors, employees, and management
• Understand store finances and help control expenses, audits, and loss prevention
• Recruit, train, and develop a strong team while promoting food safety and regulatory compliance
• Operate store technology, perform shift reports, and manage cash, lottery, and inventory processes
• Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations governing store operations and safety requirements
