Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Cashier/Stocker with lead responsibilities in Knoxville, TN. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, and maintain plan-o-grams while delivering exceptional customer service and protecting company assets.

You will operate the cash register, assist customers, and help manage store presentation and cleanliness. In the absence of management, you may authorize refunds and oversee cash controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling.
• Knowledge of IBM cash register functions.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Familiarity with cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; build displays.
• Operate cash register; total purchases and bag items.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Maintain clean, organized store and safety-minded environment.
• Open/close store under guidance of Area Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Adhere to cash controls and security policies.
• Authorize refunds and overrides in absence of Store Manager.
