Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker lead to support store operations in Knoxville, TN. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will lead a team, manage plan-o-grams, and ensure exceptional customer service while maintaining store profitability and asset protection.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, operate the register, and assist customers. The role requires promoting teamwork, safety, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise according to store processes.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total customer purchases; bag merchandise.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of store environment.
• Open/close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
