Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development at our Brooklyn store. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and supervise associates under the Store Manager's guidance.

You will be involved in opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling, maintaining displays, loss prevention, and ensuring safety and policy compliance while delivering a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling; support loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store areas and secure assets.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and ensure staff compliance.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Ensure store cleanliness, including restrooms, floors, trash, and overall neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
