Job summary

Cosentino's Food Stores is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Kansas City, MO. This exempt role leads all store departments, delivering the high standard Cosentino customers expect while promoting growth for the company.

The position reports to the Store Director and requires at least two years of management experience in food service or retail, plus a valid license for deliveries where applicable. A food handling permit must be obtained within two weeks of hire, with a preferred high school

Qualifications

• Two years minimum of management experience in a food service, retail or grocery setting.
• A valid driver’s license is required for deliveries.
• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• A liquor license is required prior to the first day of work (If applicable).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision of all store departments to ensure operational effectiveness and motivate the team.
• Promote a positive team atmosphere with cooperation, high morale and good communications.
• Coach, correct, and evaluate performance to improve results.
• Address employee relations issues and collaborate with HR as needed.
• Conduct interviews to hire quality candidates for any department.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate to District Manager when appropriate.
• Ensure adherence to Cosentino Customer Service Standards and health regulations.
• Manage labor costs while maintaining customer service levels and controlling expenses.
• Oversee merchandising and promotional displays for new items and weekly specials.
