Job summary

Family Dollar in Clinton, MA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations and drive customer service excellence. You will help train and develop Store Associates while maintaining a safe, friendly shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Clinton store, offering comprehensive benefits and growth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail/grocery/drug store is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, climbing).
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash handling), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follows procedures.
• Assist Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean including bathrooms, floors, and waste removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
