Job summary

Family Dollar in Cincinnati, OH seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise handling, payroll, scheduling, and safety compliance while maintaining an inviting sales floor and well-stocked stockroom.

You will help train Store Associates, ensure policy adherence, and foster a positive, safe environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives is required.
• Retail store management experience is preferred in grocery or similar.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store operations and activities.
• Support customers with a positive, approachable demeanor and resolve questions.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities and safety.
• Maintain attractive fixtures and displays and ensure promotional integrity.
• Aid in ordering, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep store areas clean, stocked, and organized to company standards.
• Protect company assets, including cash, and enforce security procedures.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and store procedures by associates.
• Assist Store Manager with training and development of Store Associates.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
