Dollar Tree Stores INC. seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development at our Carmel location.

You will assist with daily activities, organize merchandise, and help train and supervise store associates while maintaining a safe, friendly shopping environment. The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to handle lifting and physical duties in a high-energy retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics) is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and exhibit problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions or concerns in a positive manner.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Support payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention tasks.
• Maintain a well-stocked floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Supervise, train, and develop-store associates under the Store Manager.
