Job summary

Family Dollar in Fort Smith, Arkansas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will assist with daily store activities, opening and closing procedures, merchandise organization from delivery to floor, coaching teammates, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and handling directives and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Retail store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking/standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers with questions and concerns.
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process directives and maintain store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked, clean sales floor and stockroom.
• Protect store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and ensure safety.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment.
• Maintain cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and general areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
