Job summary

Family Dollar in Little Rock, AR is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store functions, train and supervise associates, manage opening/closing, and help maintain inventory and displays.

This role requires strong communication, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy team. Part-time position with casual attire and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions/concerns.
• Help organize, stock, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain records.
• Maintain fixtures and displays for promotional effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect store assets, including cash and inventory.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and store procedures.
• Support Store Manager in supervising and developing store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
