Job summary

Dollar Tree in Aurora, CO is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include supervising daily activities, merchandising, opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling, loss prevention, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and the ability to work in a high-energy team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Process corporate directives related to store activities; maintain fixture displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and colleagues.
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
